Product Introduction:

Cyramza 500mg Injection contains Ramucirumab as an active ingredient, which belongs to the class of monoclonal antibodies. It works by inhibiting the abnormal growth of cancer cells and, finally, causes the initiation of programmed cell death.
Cyramza 500mg Injection may cause some side effects, such as abdominal pain, dry mouth, mouth sores, increased blood pressure, diarrhea, fatigue, nausea, headache, nose bleeds, vomiting, tiredness, and injection site reactions. If the side effects persist or bother you, please consult your doctor. Cyramza 500mg Injection will be administered by a doctor experienced in the administration of cancer medicine. Do not self-administer.
It is given as IV infusion into vein by a qualified medical professional. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised.

Benefits of CYRAMZA-500 - Ramucirumab:
a. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC):
Cyramza may be used in combination with other chemotherapy drugs for the treatment of advanced NSCLC that has progressed after initial platinum-based chemotherapy. It works by blocking a protein that helps tumors grow and spread. While it may not shrink tumors significantly, Cyramza can help slow down their growth and improve progression-free survival (time without the cancer worsening).
b. Stomach cancer:
Cyramza is used in combination with another medication called paclitaxel for the treatment of advanced stomach cancer that has already spread (metastatic) or has come back (recurrent) after prior treatment. Similar to NSCLC, Cyramza doesn't necessarily shrink tumors dramatically, but it can help delay their growth and extend progression-free survival.
c. Cancer of colon and rectum (colorectal cancer):
Cyramza 500mg Injection effectively treats and reduces the risk of additional cancerous growths (polyps) and bowel cancer. It works by eliminating or halting the growth of cancer cells while also inhibiting their multiplication. However, it is important to note that this medication is potent and may have toxic effects. Therefore, it's crucial to have a discussion with your doctor regarding the potential risks and benefits. During the course of treatment, it's advisable to refrain from alcohol consumption and smoking, and to maintain hydration by drinking plenty of water.

How CYRAMZA-500 - Ramucirumab Works:
Cyramza 500mg (ramucirumab) works by hindering the growth and spread of cancer cells. It achieves this through a specific mechanism targeting a process called angiogenesis.
Angiogenesis is essentially the formation of new blood vessels. Tumors require a constant supply of blood to obtain oxygen and nutrients for their growth and survival. Cyramza acts as an antiangiogenic therapy by targeting a protein called vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2).
VEGFR2 plays a critical role in signaling the growth of new blood vessels. Cyramza binds to VEGFR2, blocking its function and thereby inhibiting the formation of new blood vessels that would nourish the tumor.
