Doptelet (Avatrombopag Tablet) 20 mg

Doptelet is a thrombopoietin receptor agonist used to manage thrombocytopenia, a condition characterized by low platelet counts.

• Chronic liver disease: Treats thrombocytopenia in adults with chronic liver disease who are scheduled to undergo a medical procedure.
• Chronic immune thrombocytopenia (ITP): Treats low blood platelet counts in adults and children 1 year and older who have had an insufficient response to previous treatments.

• Avatrombopag works by selectively stimulating the thrombopoietin (c-Mpl) receptor, which promotes the proliferation and differentiation of megakaryocytes from bone marrow progenitor cells, resulting in increased platelet production. It does not compete with thrombopoietin for binding to the receptor and has an additive effect with thrombopoietin on platelet production.

Doptelet may cause several side effects, ranging from common to serious or rare.

• Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding: Safety in pregnancy and breastfeeding is unknown; consult a healthcare provider.
• Avoid in patients with severe hepatic impairment: Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
• Store at room temperature: Keep Doptelet at room temperature between 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C), in the original packaging, and protect from moisture and heat.

Doptelet may interact with other medications, potentially affecting its efficacy or safety.
