• The antiseptic activity of Hospisept Gefärbt derives from its high‑concentration ethanol and 1‑propanol components. Both alcohols rapidly denature microbial proteins and dissolve lipid membranes, leading to loss of cellular integrity and death of bacteria, fungi and many viruses. The combined action broadens the spectrum of activity and accelerates the reduction of viable microorganisms on the skin surface in the treated area.

Topical application of Hospisept Gefärbt may cause local reactions, most of which are mild and transient, while rare serious events have been reported.

• Transient stinging or burning sensation at the application site.
