Glorixone (Ceftriaxone)

Glorixone is indicated for the treatment of several serious bacterial infections where ceftriaxone is appropriate.

• Bacterial pneumonia, including community‑acquired and hospital‑acquired forms.
• Meningitis caused by susceptible strains of Neisseria meningitidis or Streptococcus pneumoniae.
• Gonorrhea infections, particularly uncomplicated genital disease.

Common

• Injection site pain or erythema.
• Diarrhea or loose stools.
• Nausea or mild vomiting.
• Elevated liver enzymes.
• Transient rash or itching.

Serious

• Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis, Stevens‑Johnson syndrome).
• Clostridioides difficile‑associated colitis.
• Hemolytic anemia.
• Hepatotoxicity with jaundice.
• Acute renal failure in predisposed patients.

• Assess patient history for penicillin or cephalosporin allergy.
• Use caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment; dose adjustment may be required.
• Monitor for signs of superinfection, especially C. difficile colitis.

Avoid
