Haemonine (Human Coagulation Factor Ix)

Haemonine is indicated for the treatment and prevention of bleeding in patients with factor IX deficiency.

• Hemophilia B (congenital factor IX deficiency)
• Management of acute bleeding episodes in acquired factor IX deficiency
• Peri‑operative prophylaxis for surgical procedures in patients with hemophilia B
• Long‑term prophylaxis to reduce the frequency of spontaneous bleeds

Serious

• Development of inhibitors (neutralizing antibodies) to factor IX
• Anaphylactic or severe hypersensitivity reactions
• Thromboembolic events such as deep‑vein thrombosis
• Renal impairment associated with volume overload

Clinicians should consider several safety aspects before initiating Haemonine therapy.

• Assess for a history of inhibitors to factor IX or other clotting factors
• Monitor for signs of hypersensitivity during and after infusion
• Evaluate renal and hepatic function, especially in patients with comorbidities
