Hartil (Ramipril)

Hartil is indicated for several cardiovascular conditions where lowering blood pressure or reducing cardiac strain is beneficial.

• Hypertension: used to lower elevated systemic blood pressure in adults.
• Heart failure: helps improve symptoms and reduce hospitalizations in patients with reduced ejection fraction.
• Post‑myocardial infarction: prescribed to improve survival and prevent remodeling after a heart attack.
• Diabetic nephropathy: slows progression of kidney disease in patients with type 2 diabetes.
• Left ventricular dysfunction: may be part of therapy to reduce cardiac workload.

Common

• Persistent dry cough.
• Dizziness or light‑headedness, especially after standing.
• Headache.
• Fatigue.
• Mild hypotension.
• Elevated blood potassium levels.

Serious

• Angioedema involving face, lips, tongue or airway.
• Severe hypotension leading to fainting.
• Acute renal impairment or worsening kidney function.
• Neutropenia or other blood dyscrasias.
• Hepatic dysfunction with jaundice.

Before starting Hartil, certain patient factors and clinical conditions require careful assessment.

• Contraindicated in pregnancy; use can cause fetal harm.
• Caution in patients with existing renal impairment; monitor kidney function.
• Use carefully in hepatic disease; dose adjustment may be needed.
• Monitor serum electrolytes, especially potassium, to avoid hyperkalaemia.
• History of angioedema or hereditary C1‑esterase deficiency increases risk.
