Hespimin (Diosmin)

• Diosmin exerts its venous vasoprotective activity by enhancing venous tone through modulation of endothelial nitric oxide synthase and increasing the contractility of smooth muscle cells in the venous wall. It reduces capillary permeability by stabilizing the endothelial glycocalyx and inhibiting inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes. Additionally, its antioxidant capacity scavenges free radicals, protecting microvascular structures from oxidative damage.

Adverse reactions to Hespimin are generally mild, but rare serious events have been reported.

Common

• Gastrointestinal discomfort such as nausea, abdominal pain, or dyspepsia.
• Headache or dizziness.

• Flushing or warmth sensation.
• Palpitations or transient tachycardia.

Serious

• Severe allergic reactions including angioedema or anaphylaxis.
