• Xylometazoline hydrochloride acts as an α‑adrenergic agonist on the α1‑ and α2‑receptors of the nasal submucosal blood vessels, producing vasoconstriction that decreases mucosal edema and improves airflow. Dexpanthenol is a provitamin of pantothenic acid; after conversion to pantothenic acid in the nasal epithelium it participates in co‑enzyme A synthesis, promoting cellular repair and providing a moisturizing effect on the mucosal surface overall.

Adverse reactions to Hexarhinal Plus are generally mild and reversible, but rare serious events have been reported.
