• Hexomedine Solution’s active component, hexamidine diisetionate, belongs to the biguanide class of antiseptics. It penetrates microbial cell walls and interacts with membrane phospholipids, causing loss of membrane integrity. This disruption leads to leakage of intracellular contents, inhibition of essential enzymatic processes, and ultimately cell death. The broad‑spectrum activity covers Gram‑positive and Gram‑negative bacteria as well as certain fungi, providing rapid antimicrobial action on the skin surface.

Topical application of Hexomedine Solution may be associated with local skin reactions; systemic effects are uncommon.

Common

• Mild skin irritation or redness at the application site.

Serious
