• Chlorhexidine gluconate exerts its antiseptic effect by binding to negatively charged bacterial cell walls and disrupting membrane integrity. The cationic molecule penetrates the lipid bilayer, causing leakage of intracellular contents and precipitation of cytoplasmic proteins. This loss of structural stability leads to rapid bacterial cell death, affecting a broad spectrum of Gram‑positive and Gram‑negative organisms, as well as some fungi and viruses.

Topical application of Hibiscrub may cause local skin reactions; most are mild and reversible, while rare events can be more serious.

Common

Serious
