• Racecadotril is a peripheral enkephalinase inhibitor. By blocking the enzyme that degrades endogenous enkephalins, it increases the concentration of these opioid peptides in the intestinal mucosa. The elevated enkephalins activate δ‑opioid receptors on enteric neurons, which reduces cyclic AMP‑mediated chloride secretion and limits water and electrolyte loss into the lumen, thereby decreasing stool volume without affecting intestinal motility. The effect is localized to the gut and does not produce central opioid effects.

Adverse reactions to Hidrasec Pro Kojence are generally mild, but rare serious events have been reported.

Common

• Nausea or mild stomach discomfort, usually transient.
• Headache, often mild and resolves without treatment.
• Dizziness or light‑headed feeling, especially after standing quickly.
