Hidrocortisona Bluepharma (Hydrocortisone)

Hidrocortisona Bluepharma is indicated for the topical management of several inflammatory skin disorders.

• Eczema (atopic dermatitis), providing relief of redness, itching, and scaling.
• Contact dermatitis caused by irritants or allergens, reducing inflammation and discomfort.
• Seborrheic dermatitis on scalp or face, helping to control flaking and erythema.
• Limited plaque psoriasis, used to soften plaques and diminish erythema.
• Minor skin irritations, insect bites, or rash where anti‑inflammatory action is desired.

• Hydrocortisone exerts its effect by diffusing across the stratum corneum and binding to intracellular glucocorticoid receptors. The receptor‑ligand complex translocates to the nucleus, where it interacts with glucocorticoid response elements on DNA, modulating transcription of multiple genes. This results in decreased synthesis of pro‑inflammatory cytokines, prostaglandins, and leukotrienes, and suppresses the activity of immune cells such as T‑lymphocytes and macrophages, thereby reducing inflammation.

Topical hydrocortisone may cause local or systemic adverse reactions, most of which are mild, reversible, and limited to the area of application, although rare systemic effects can occur with extensive use.

• Hypersensitivity reactions such as urticaria or angioedema.
• Severe infection at the application site.

• Avoid application on broken skin, open wounds, or infected areas unless directed by a healthcare professional.
• Limit use to the prescribed duration; prolonged therapy increases the risk of skin atrophy.
• Do not cover the treated area with occlusive dressings unless specifically advised.
• Use cautiously in children, the elderly, or patients with a history of corticosteroid sensitivity.

Avoid
