Hidrocortizon Fiterman (Hydrocortisone Acetate)

Hidrocortizon Fiterman is indicated for the topical management of several inflammatory and pruritic skin disorders.

• Hydrocortisone acetate exerts its anti‑inflammatory effect by diffusing into skin cells and binding to intracellular glucocorticoid receptors. The drug‑receptor complex translocates to the nucleus, where it interacts with glucocorticoid response elements and modulates gene transcription. This leads to decreased synthesis of pro‑inflammatory cytokines, prostaglandins, and leukotrienes, and suppresses activation and migration of immune cells such as T‑lymphocytes and macrophages, thereby reducing local inflammation.

Topical application of hydrocortisone acetate may be associated with local and, rarely, systemic adverse reactions.

• Burning, stinging or itching at the application site.
• Redness or mild irritation of the skin.
• Dryness or peeling of the treated area.
• Folliculitis or acneiform eruptions.

Serious

• Skin atrophy, thinning, or striae with prolonged use.

• Systemic cortisol suppression when large areas are treated extensively.
