Paracetamol (acetaminophen) works centrally by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, decreasing prostaglandin synthesis, and modulating the endocannabinoid system, resulting in analgesic and antipyretic effects. The combined action addresses both congestion and pain/fever, providing symptomatic relief without directly targeting the underlying infection.
