• Insulin lispro is a recombinant human insulin analog in which two amino acids are reversed, reducing self‑association and allowing rapid absorption. After injection, it binds to insulin receptors on muscle and adipose tissue, activating the receptor tyrosine kinase pathway. This promotes translocation of GLUT‑4 transporters, increasing glucose uptake, and suppresses hepatic gluconeogenesis, leading to a swift reduction in plasma glucose levels.
