Humex Rhume (Chlorphenamine Maleate, Paracetamol | Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride, Paracetamol)

Humex Rhume is indicated for temporary relief of multiple symptoms that commonly accompany upper‑respiratory infections such as the common cold or influenza.

• Relief of nasal congestion caused by swollen nasal passages.
• Reduction of headache and sinus pressure associated with cold.
• Lowering of fever and alleviation of body aches.
• Soothing of sore throat and reduction of cough irritation.
• General improvement of overall discomfort during a cold or flu episode.

• Chlorphenamine maleate blocks H1 histamine receptors, preventing the vascular and sensory effects of histamine that cause runny nose, itching and sneezing. Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride acts as a sympathomimetic amine, stimulating α‑adrenergic receptors in the nasal mucosa, which leads to vasoconstriction and reduced swelling of the nasal passages. Paracetamol inhibits central cyclo‑oxygenase enzymes, decreasing prostaglandin synthesis to provide analgesic and antipyretic effects.

Like all combination cold medicines, Humex Rhume may cause unwanted effects, most of which are mild, dose‑related and reversible, but patients should be aware of both common and less frequent serious reactions.

Common

• Drowsiness or mild sedation, which may affect tasks requiring alertness.
• Dry mouth, throat or nasal passages, sometimes accompanied by a feeling of thirst.
• Nausea, mild stomach upset or loss of appetite.
• Mild headache, dizziness or a sense of light‑headedness.
• Transient insomnia or difficulty sleeping, especially if taken later in the day.

Serious

• Rapid heart rate, palpitations or irregular heartbeat that may require medical evaluation.
• Significant increase in blood pressure, especially in individuals with hypertension.
• Severe allergic reaction such as rash, swelling of the face or tongue, or difficulty breathing, which warrants immediate emergency care.

Humex Rhume should be used with caution in certain populations and clinical situations to minimise risk of adverse outcomes.

• Do not exceed the recommended daily dose; higher amounts increase cardiovascular and CNS risks.
• Avoid use in children younger than the age specified for each ingredient.
• People with hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, thyroid problems, or glaucoma should consult a doctor before use.
• Pregnant or nursing women should seek medical advice because safety has not been fully established.
• Do not combine with MAO inhibitors or other sympathomimetic drugs; alcohol may increase drowsiness.

Humex Rhume can interact with several medicines; awareness of these interactions helps prevent reduced efficacy, increased toxicity, or unexpected cardiovascular effects.

Avoid
