Husten Acc Akut (Acetylcysteine)

Husten Acc Akut is indicated for the symptomatic relief of mucus‑related respiratory conditions.

• Acute productive cough associated with common cold or influenza.
• Chronic bronchitis with excessive sputum production.
• Exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) where mucus clearance is needed.
• Mucus hypersecretion in other respiratory diseases such as asthma or bronchiectasis.

• Acetylcysteine acts as a mucolytic by cleaving disulfide bonds within the glycoprotein matrix of mucus. This chemical reduction disrupts the three‑dimensional structure of mucus, decreasing its viscosity and elasticity. The resulting thinner secretions are more easily transported by ciliary action and cough, enhancing mucociliary clearance from the airways. In addition, the sulfhydryl group can act as an antioxidant, helping to protect airway epithelium from oxidative stress.

Like most mucolytics, Husten Acc Akut may cause a range of adverse reactions, most of which are mild and transient.
