How It Works

  • Hydracort delivers hydrocortisone to the skin, where it binds to intracellular glucocorticoid receptors. The receptor‑ligand complex translocates to the nucleus and modulates gene transcription, leading to decreased production of prostaglandins, leukotrienes and cytokines. This reduces vasodilation, capillary permeability, and leukocyte infiltration, thereby suppressing the local inflammatory and immune response in the treated area.
