Hydrocortison Ratiopharm is indicated for a range of mild to moderate inflammatory skin conditions where topical corticosteroid therapy is appropriate.

• Hydrocortison Ratiopharm delivers hydrocortisone to the skin, where the molecule diffuses into epidermal and dermal cells and binds intracellular glucocorticoid receptors. The receptor‑ligand complex translocates to the nucleus and interacts with glucocorticoid response elements, altering transcription of multiple genes. This results in reduced production of pro‑inflammatory cytokines, inhibition of phospholipase A2, and decreased vasodilation, collectively providing anti‑inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and vasoconstrictive actions.

Topical hydrocortisone can produce local skin reactions, and when used over large areas or for extended periods, systemic effects may also develop, requiring monitoring.

Common
