• Hydrocortisonum Amara delivers hydrocortisone acetate to the epidermis, where the compound diffuses into keratinocytes and immune cells. Inside the cells it binds to cytoplasmic glucocorticoid receptors, forming a complex that translocates to the nucleus and interacts with glucocorticoid response elements on DNA. This interaction alters transcription of multiple genes, suppressing pro‑inflammatory cytokines, reducing leukocyte migration, and stabilising lysosomal membranes, thereby decreasing redness, swelling and itching.

Topical hydrocortisone acetate may cause local and, rarely, systemic adverse reactions. Reported effects are grouped by frequency and severity.
