Hydroklortiazid Evolan (Hydrochlorothiazide)

Hydroklortiazid Evolan is indicated for several conditions in which excess fluid accumulation or elevated blood pressure requires diuretic therapy.

• Hypertension (high blood pressure) management, either alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents.
• Edema associated with congestive heart failure, helping to reduce peripheral swelling.
• Edema related to chronic kidney disease, facilitating removal of excess fluid.

• Hydrochlorothiazide acts on the distal convoluted tubule of the nephron by inhibiting the sodium‑chloride symporter (NCC). This blockade reduces reabsorption of sodium and chloride, leading to increased urinary excretion of these ions along with water. The resulting natriuresis and diuresis lower extracellular fluid volume, which contributes to a decrease in peripheral vascular resistance and blood pressure. The effect begins within a few hours and can persist for up to 24 hours.

Like other thiazide diuretics, Hydroklortiazid Evolan may cause a range of adverse reactions, most of which are mild and transient, while a few can be serious and require medical attention.
