Hydrokortison Evolan is commonly employed in dermatology to manage mild to moderate inflammatory skin disorders.

• Hydrokortison Evolan delivers hydrocortisone to the skin, where the molecule penetrates epidermal cells and binds to intracellular glucocorticoid receptors. The receptor‑ligand complex translocates to the nucleus and interacts with glucocorticoid response elements, altering transcription of multiple genes. This results in decreased synthesis of pro‑inflammatory cytokines, prostaglandins, and leukotrienes, while enhancing production of anti‑inflammatory proteins, thereby reducing edema, erythema, and immune cell activation at the site of application.

Topical hydrocortisone may cause local and, rarely, systemic adverse reactions.

Common

Serious

• Skin thinning (atrophy) or development of striae with prolonged use
• Appearance of telangiectasia or visible blood vessels
• Secondary bacterial, fungal, or viral infection of the treated area

When using Hydrokortison Evolan, several safety considerations should be observed.

• Do not apply to broken, infected, or ulcerated skin unless directed by a clinician
• Limit duration of use on large surface areas to reduce systemic absorption
• Exercise caution in pediatric patients; lower potency or shorter courses are preferred
