• Hyzaar Forte, a combination of an angiotensin II receptor blocker and a thiazide diuretic, is used to manage hypertension.

• Losartan potassium selectively blocks AT1 receptors, preventing angiotensin II from causing vasoconstriction and aldosterone release, which leads to vasodilation and reduced sodium retention. Hydrochlorothiazide inhibits Na⁺/Cl⁻ reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule, increasing urinary excretion of sodium and water, thereby decreasing plasma volume and further lowering blood pressure.
