• Ibandronic Acid binds to hydroxyapatite crystals at sites of active bone remodeling. When osteoclasts attach to the drug‑coated bone surface, the bisphosphonate is internalized, disrupting the mevalonate pathway, which leads to loss of prenylated proteins and triggers osteoclast apoptosis, thereby decreasing bone resorption.
