Ibukey (Ibuprofen)

• Ibuprofen exerts its effect by non‑selectively inhibiting cyclooxygenase‑1 (COX‑1) and cyclooxygenase‑2 (COX‑2) enzymes, which blocks the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandins. The reduction in prostaglandin synthesis diminishes peripheral sensitization of nociceptors, leading to decreased inflammation, pain perception and fever response at the site of application. Topical delivery allows the drug to concentrate in the dermal and sub‑dermal tissues while limiting systemic exposure.
