Ibuprofen Sandoz works systemically to reduce pain, fever and inflammation across several common conditions.

• Mild to moderate pain: relieves headaches, dental pain, musculoskeletal aches and postoperative discomfort.
• Fever: lowers elevated body temperature associated with infections or inflammatory states.
• Osteoarthritis: decreases joint pain and improves functional mobility.
• Rheumatoid arthritis: reduces inflammatory swelling and joint tenderness.
• Dysmenorrhea: alleviates menstrual cramps and associated pelvic pain.

• Ibuprofen reversibly inhibits cyclooxygenase‑1 (COX‑1) and cyclooxygenase‑2 (COX‑2) enzymes, blocking the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandins and thromboxanes. This reduction in prostaglandin synthesis diminishes peripheral sensitization of nociceptors, lowers fever set‑point in the hypothalamus, and curtails inflammatory mediators at sites of tissue injury.

Adverse reactions may range from mild to severe and should be monitored during therapy.

Common Side Effects

• Evaluate gastrointestinal risk: use cautiously in patients with a history of ulcers or bleeding.
• Review cardiovascular status: monitor blood pressure and avoid in uncontrolled hypertension.
• Check for hypersensitivity: discontinue if signs of allergic reaction appear.
