• Ibuprofen lysine is rapidly absorbed and reversibly inhibits cyclooxygenase‑1 (COX‑1) and cyclooxygenase‑2 (COX‑2) enzymes, blocking the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandins. By decreasing prostaglandin synthesis, it reduces peripheral sensitization of nociceptors, lowers the hypothalamic set‑point for temperature, and diminishes inflammatory exudate formation, resulting in analgesic, antipyretic and anti‑inflammatory effects. The inhibition is dose‑dependent and temporary, allowing normal prostaglandin production to resume after the drug is cleared.
