Ibuspray (Ibuprofen)

Ibuspray, a topical NSAID, is used to manage pain and inflammation in musculoskeletal and soft‑tissue conditions.

• Mild to moderate musculoskeletal pain: provides localized analgesia and reduces inflammation.
• Superficial soft‑tissue injuries (e.g., sprains, strains): decreases swelling and discomfort at the injury site.
• Minor aches and pains such as backache or joint stiffness: offers convenient topical pain relief.

• Ibuprofen exerts its effect by reversibly inhibiting cyclooxygenase‑1 (COX‑1) and cyclooxygenase‑2 (COX‑2) enzymes in peripheral tissues. This inhibition reduces the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are key mediators of pain, inflammation and fever. When applied as a spray, ibuprofen penetrates the skin to act locally, delivering analgesic and anti‑inflammatory activity at the site of application while limiting systemic exposure.

Topical ibuprofen may cause local skin reactions and, rarely, systemic adverse events.

• Limit application area: do not exceed the recommended surface area (typically no more than 10 % of total body surface).
• Do not combine with other NSAID products: avoid concurrent systemic NSAID use to reduce risk of toxicity.

• Children under 12 years: not recommended unless directed by a physician.
• Store at ambient temperature: keep below 25 °C, in the original container, protected from moisture and direct sunlight.
