Ibustar (Ibuprofen)

Ibustar (ibuprofen) is indicated for the management of pain, fever and inflammatory disorders across several clinical settings, providing symptomatic relief.

• Mild to moderate pain: Relieves acute or chronic pain such as headache, dental pain, menstrual cramps, or postoperative discomfort.
• Fever: Reduces elevated body temperature associated with infections or inflammatory conditions.
• Osteoarthritis: Improves joint function and reduces pain in degenerative joint disease.
• Rheumatoid arthritis: Decreases inflammation and pain in autoimmune joint inflammation.
• General inflammation: Controls swelling and discomfort in soft‑tissue injuries and musculoskeletal inflammation.

• Ibustar exerts its effect by non‑selectively inhibiting cyclooxygenase‑1 (COX‑1) and cyclooxygenase‑2 (COX‑2) enzymes, which are key in the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandins. By reducing prostaglandin synthesis, it diminishes peripheral sensitization, lowers the fever set‑point in the hypothalamus, and limits inflammation at the site of tissue injury. The inhibition is reversible and dose‑dependent, allowing modulation of both analgesic and antipyretic pathways without affecting platelet aggregation at low doses.

Like all NSAIDs, ibuprofen may cause adverse reactions that vary in frequency and severity.
