Ibutabs (Ibuprofen)

Ibutabs (ibuprofen) works by reducing inflammation and pain in several common clinical situations.

• Mild to moderate pain: provides analgesic relief for headaches, dental pain, musculoskeletal discomfort and menstrual cramps.
• Fever: lowers elevated body temperature associated with infections or inflammatory states.
• Inflammatory conditions: alleviates swelling and discomfort in disorders such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

• Ibuprofen exerts its effect through non‑selective inhibition of cyclooxygenase enzymes COX‑1 and COX‑2, which decreases the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in pain, fever and inflammation. By limiting prostaglandin production, it reduces peripheral sensitisation of nociceptors and lowers the hypothalamic set‑point for temperature regulation.

Adverse reactions may range from mild to severe and should be monitored during therapy.
