• Adalimumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that binds with high affinity to both soluble and membrane-bound tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α). By neutralizing TNF-α, it prevents the cytokine from interacting with its cell‑surface receptors, thereby interrupting the downstream inflammatory cascade that drives synovial, dermal and gastrointestinal inflammation. This targeted inhibition reduces the production of other pro‑inflammatory mediators and limits tissue damage.
