Ido-C (Ascorbic Acid, Sodium Ascorbate)

Ido-C, a vitamin C supplement, is used to address conditions related to insufficient vitamin C or to support immune health.

• Ascorbic Acid acts as a reducing agent that donates electrons to neutralize reactive oxygen species, thereby limiting oxidative stress. It serves as a co‑factor for prolyl and lysyl hydroxylase enzymes, which are essential for hydroxylation of pro‑collagen, enabling proper collagen cross‑linking and connective‑tissue stability. Additionally, it supports enzymatic reactions in leukocyte function, enhancing chemotaxis and microbial killing.

Common Side Effects

• Gastrointestinal upset: nausea, abdominal cramps or diarrhea.
