Imatinib Orion acts on malignant cells driven by BCR‑ABL, c‑KIT or PDGFR signaling pathways.

• Chronic myeloid leukemia: helps achieve hematologic and cytogenetic remission.
• Acute lymphoblastic leukemia: contributes to disease control when the BCR‑ABL fusion is present.
• Gastrointestinal stromal tumor: inhibits tumor growth driven by c‑KIT mutations.

• Imatinib selectively inhibits the ATP‑binding site of BCR‑ABL tyrosine kinase as well as the related c‑KIT and PDGFR receptors. By blocking these kinases, it prevents downstream phosphorylation events that drive uncontrolled cell proliferation and survival, leading to apoptosis of malignant cells that depend on these pathways.
