Imolope (Loperamide Hydrochloride)

Imolope (loperamide) is used to manage diarrheal conditions by slowing intestinal transit.

• Loperamide acts as a peripheral opioid receptor agonist, primarily binding to μ‑opioid receptors in the myenteric plexus of the gastrointestinal tract. This binding inhibits acetylcholine release, reduces peristaltic activity, and prolongs intestinal transit time, allowing greater water absorption from the lumen and resulting in firmer stools.
