Impugan (Furosemide)

Impugan (furosemide) is used to manage conditions involving fluid overload or elevated blood pressure.

• Furosemide acts on the thick ascending limb of the loop of Henle by inhibiting the Na⁺/K⁺/2Cl⁻ cotransporter. This blockade reduces reabsorption of sodium, chloride, and potassium, leading to increased urinary excretion of these ions together with water, thereby decreasing extracellular fluid volume and lowering blood pressure.
