Inflanefran Forte (Prednisolone Acetate)

Inflanefran Forte is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in various ocular conditions.

• Post‑operative ocular inflammation: decreases swelling, pain and redness after eye surgery.
• Uveitis: controls intra‑ocular inflammation and prevents tissue damage.
• Allergic conjunctivitis: relieves itching, redness and swelling caused by allergens.
• Other inflammatory eye conditions: mitigates inflammation where corticosteroid therapy is indicated.

• Prednisolone acetate binds to intracellular glucocorticoid receptors in ocular tissues, altering gene transcription. This interaction suppresses phospholipase A2 activity and reduces the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes, leading to decreased vascular permeability, inhibition of inflammatory cell migration, and overall reduction of ocular inflammation.

Prednisolone acetate may cause a range of ocular and systemic reactions.

Common Side Effects

• Blurred vision: temporary visual disturbance after instillation.

Serious or Rare Side Effects

• Severe glaucoma: significant and sustained elevation of intraocular pressure.
• Hypersensitivity reaction: swelling, redness, or rash around the eye.
• Systemic adrenal suppression: rare systemic effects with extensive use.
