Initiss (Cilazapril)

• Cilazapril, an ACE inhibitor, is used to manage conditions related to the renin‑angiotensin system, primarily hypertension.

• Cilazapril selectively inhibits the angiotensin‑converting enzyme (ACE), preventing the conversion of angiotensin I to the potent vasoconstrictor angiotensin II. This leads to vasodilation, reduced aldosterone secretion, decreased sodium and water retention, and ultimately lower systemic vascular resistance and blood pressure. The blockade also attenuates sympathetic activation and improves endothelial function, contributing further to antihypertensive effects. These combined actions make cilazapril effective in controlling elevated arterial pressure and supporting cardiac workload.
