Intratect (Human Normal Immunoglobulin)

Intratect, a human normal immunoglobulin, is employed in disorders where antibody deficiency or immune dysregulation is present.

• Primary immunodeficiency diseases: restores IgG levels and reduces the frequency of serious infections.
• Secondary immunodeficiency: provides passive immunity to patients with acquired loss of antibodies.
• Immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP): modulates the immune system to increase platelet counts.
• Kawasaki disease: reduces systemic inflammation and helps prevent coronary artery complications.

• Intratect supplies pooled IgG antibodies that bind to a broad range of pathogens, neutralising them and facilitating opsonisation. The infused IgG also interacts with Fc receptors and complement pathways, leading to modulation of immune cell activity, down‑regulation of auto‑antibody production, and restoration of humoral immunity in deficient individuals.

Common Side Effects

• Headache: mild to moderate, often occurring during or shortly after infusion.
