Iodine Valentis (Iodine)

Iodine Valentis is an antiseptic that acts on the skin’s microbial flora to reduce infection risk.

• Skin disinfection: prepares the skin surface before surgical or invasive procedures by eliminating bacteria, fungi and viruses.
• Wound cleansing: applied to minor cuts, abrasions or burns to reduce microbial load and support natural healing.
• Pre‑operative antisepsis: used in the operating theatre to lower the risk of postoperative infections in patients of all ages.

• Iodine Valentis releases free iodine molecules that diffuse through microbial cell walls and membranes. The iodine oxidizes essential proteins, nucleic acids and enzymes, disrupting metabolic pathways and causing rapid cell death. This non‑specific oxidative action provides broad‑spectrum activity against bacteria, fungi, viruses and protozoa, while the iodine remains largely bound to the carrier, limiting systemic absorption.

Iodine Valentis may cause local skin reactions and, rarely, systemic effects.
