Irbesartan/Hydrochlorothiazide is used to manage high blood pressure and related conditions by acting on the renin‑angiotensin system and promoting diuresis.

How It Works

  • Irbesartan selectively blocks AT1 receptors, preventing angiotensin II from causing vasoconstriction and aldosterone release. Hydrochlorothiazide inhibits NaCl reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule, increasing urinary sodium and water excretion, which together lower systemic vascular resistance and plasma volume, resulting in reduced arterial pressure.
