Irbesartan Jubilant (Irbesartan)

• Irbesartan is used to treat conditions related to the renin‑angiotensin system, primarily hypertension and diabetic kidney disease.

• Irbesartan selectively blocks angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptors on vascular smooth muscle, adrenal gland and renal tubular cells. By preventing angiotensin II binding, it inhibits vasoconstriction, aldosterone secretion and sodium‑water retention, leading to vasodilation, reduced blood volume and lower systemic blood pressure. The blockade also diminishes intraglomerular pressure, contributing to renal protection in diabetic patients.
