Irbesartan belongs to the angiotensin II receptor blocker class and is used to manage conditions related to the renin‑angiotensin system.

• Irbesartan selectively blocks the angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor, preventing angiotensin II‑mediated vasoconstriction, aldosterone release, and sympathetic activation.
