Iruxol Mono (Collagenase Clostridium Histolyticum, Protease)

Iruxol Mono, a proteolytic enzyme used for topical debridement, is indicated for the following wound‑related conditions:

• Chronic wounds: facilitates removal of necrotic tissue and promotes a clean wound bed for healing.
• Pressure ulcers: enzymatically debrides eschar, improving ulcer management and reducing infection risk.
• Burn eschar: breaks down dead burn tissue, supporting subsequent grafting or natural healing.

• Collagenase clostridium histolyticum acts by cleaving the triple‑helical structure of collagen and other extracellular matrix proteins. The enzyme hydrolyzes peptide bonds within the collagen fibrils, weakening the structural framework of necrotic tissue. This localized proteolysis softens and dissolves eschar, allowing it to be removed mechanically or by natural sloughing, thereby preparing the wound for further care. The activity remains confined to the applied area, minimizing systemic exposure.

Topical application of Iruxol Mono may be associated with local skin reactions and, rarely, systemic adverse events.
