Ketoprofen is an NSAID that acts on inflammatory pathways, providing relief in several musculoskeletal and rheumatic conditions.

• Ketoprofen exerts its anti‑inflammatory and analgesic effects by non‑selectively inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes COX‑1 and COX‑2. This inhibition blocks the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandins, which are mediators of inflammation, pain and fever. By lowering prostaglandin synthesis, ketoprofen reduces vascular permeability, edema and sensitisation of nociceptors, resulting in decreased pain perception and inflammation at the site of injury.
