Kinpeygo (Budesonide)

Kinpeygo (budesonide) is used within the inflammatory bowel disease therapeutic area to manage intestinal inflammation in children.

• Budesonide is a glucocorticoid receptor agonist that enters cells and binds to cytoplasmic glucocorticoid receptors. The drug‑receptor complex translocates to the nucleus, where it interacts with glucocorticoid response elements on DNA, altering transcription of inflammatory genes. This results in decreased production of cytokines, chemokines and other mediators, leading to reduced inflammation and immunosuppression in the gastrointestinal tract.

• Oral candidiasis: fungal infection of the mouth.
