Klimicin (Clindamycin)

Klimicin, a lincosamide antibiotic, is employed to manage infections caused by susceptible bacteria.

• Respiratory tract infections: treats pneumonia, sinusitis and bronchitis caused by susceptible organisms.

• Clindamycin binds to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes, inhibiting the translocation step of protein synthesis. This blockade prevents peptide chain elongation, halting bacterial growth and leading to a bacteriostatic effect against susceptible Gram‑positive and anaerobic organisms.
