Ladip (Lacidipine)

Lacidipine is indicated for the management of hypertension, a condition characterized by chronically elevated arterial pressure.

• Hypertension: reduces systolic and diastolic blood pressure by causing peripheral vasodilation, improving cardiovascular risk profile.
• Essential hypertension: provides sustained blood pressure control in patients with primary hypertension.

• Lacidipine selectively blocks L-type calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle. Inhibition of calcium influx prevents contraction of arterial smooth muscle, leading to vasodilation and a decrease in peripheral vascular resistance. The resulting reduction in afterload lowers systemic blood pressure without significant negative inotropic effects on the heart.

Common Side Effects
