Lansoprazol Vir (Lansoprazole)

Lansoprazole is indicated for several acid‑related gastrointestinal disorders.

• Gastro‑esophageal reflux disease (GERD): provides symptomatic relief by decreasing acid exposure to the esophagus.
• Peptic ulcer disease: promotes ulcer healing by suppressing gastric acid secretion.
• Helicobacter pylori eradication regimens: enhances antibiotic efficacy when used as part of combination therapy.
• Zollinger‑Ellison syndrome: controls hypergastrinemia‑driven acid hypersecretion.

• Lansoprazole selectively and irreversibly inhibits the H+/K+ ATPase (proton pump) located on the secretory surface of gastric parietal cells. By blocking this final step of acid production, it markedly reduces basal and stimulated gastric acid secretion, leading to an increase in gastric pH and allowing healing of acid‑related mucosal lesions.

Adverse reactions may occur with lansoprazole therapy.

Common Side Effects

Serious or Rare Side Effects
