Lebsanan (Tacrolimus)

Lebsanan (tacrolimus) acts on the immune pathways that drive inflammatory skin disease.

• Atopic dermatitis: reduces inflammation and pruritus, improving skin barrier function.
• Eczema: decreases cytokine release, leading to clearer lesions and less itching.
• Other inflammatory skin conditions: may alleviate symptoms by suppressing local immune activation.

• Tacrolimus binds to the intracellular protein FKBP‑12, forming a complex that inhibits calcineurin phosphatase activity. This blocks the dephosphorylation of nuclear factor of activated T‑cells (NF‑AT), preventing transcription of interleukin‑2 and other cytokines, thereby reducing T‑cell activation and inflammatory mediator release in the skin.

Topical tacrolimus can cause local skin reactions, most of which are mild and reversible.
