Lecrolyn Sine (Sodium Cromoglicate)

• Sodium Cromoglicate is used to manage ocular allergic conditions by stabilising mast cells and preventing inflammatory mediator release.
• Allergic conjunctivitis: reduces itching, redness and swelling of the eyes.
• Ocular allergy: prevents symptoms such as tearing and burning caused by allergen exposure.
• Seasonal allergic conjunctivitis: provides relief during pollen seasons.

• Sodium Cromoglicate binds to mast cell membranes and inhibits calcium‑dependent degranulation, thereby preventing the release of histamine, leukotrienes and other inflammatory mediators in the conjunctival tissues. This stabilisation reduces the allergic response and associated ocular inflammation.

Adverse reactions may occur with ocular use of sodium cromoglicate.

• Before using Lecrolyn Sine, consider the following precautions.
• Avoid use in patients with known hypersensitivity to sodium cromoglicate or formulation excipients.
• Do not apply if the eye is infected or has a corneal ulcer without physician guidance.
• Monitor for signs of ocular irritation; discontinue if severe discomfort persists.
• Contact lenses should be removed before instillation and reinserted after the solution has been absorbed.
